SOUTHWESTERN FURNITURE

JD WOODWORKS

HAND-CRAFTED SOUTHWESTERN FURNITURE

JD WOODWORKS was started in 1992.   The objective was to create authentic Southwestern furniture with a contemporary feel, as opposed to the mass produced or assembly line pieces that are currently being imported.  JD WOODWORKS takes pride in the fact that all pieces are individually designed, constructed, carved, stained, oiled and finished by hand.  No two pieces, therefore, are exactly alike.

The various categories include Chests for the Living Room, Bedroom or Hallway.  Display Cabinets of many types and styles are available.  You will find CD, DVD, Video Tape Cabinets, Spice Cabinets and Jelly Cabinets to Entertainment Centers. There are Tables, for your Dining Room, Living Room, Bedroom or Home Office.  Other categories include Bedroom Furniture, Computer Furniture, Shelves, Mirrors, Bookcases, Botequins, Rug Huggers and Window Valances as well as several  Specialty Pieces, including a Bar Unit with matching Cabinets  and Room Dividers.  One last category is Decorative Items which include  Hanging Wall Designs, all meant to complement your décor.

The principal goal of
JD WOODWORKS is to provide our customers with a selection of  Southwest Furniture that is at the same time distinctive and contemporary; simple and functional in design but adhering to the tradition of the Santa Fe Style Furniture with the colors, details, accents and craftsmanship associated with the Southwestern look, appeal and character.  The unique appearance of the finished furniture is Southwestern Contemporary – a blend of Country Pine Furniture with the artistry of the Native Americans of the Southwest. The overall concept is based upon the Spanish colonial designs of Northern New Mexico, the American Craftsman movement and Contemporary Southwest Décor.  For more information on the history of Southwestern Furniture, please go the “History” Link

Handcrafted Southwestern Furniture means that every piece is made by hand; from the original design through the finishing stages. It takes 90% of the time to accomplish the last 10% of the work!  A large percentage of the furniture built are custom designs created by close involvement between JD WOODWORKS and our customers. It is said that that a picture is worth a thousand words...the only problem is that touch and feel  are missing, when viewing a computer screen or a picture.   All of the Southwestern Furniture at JD WOODWORKS is made using quality materials and techniques.  The woods used, either solely or in combination, range from Aged Pine, Poplar, Redwood, Maple, Birch, Oak, Cherry and Mesquite. Once completed, each piece is sanded to 320 grit, burnished, stained, oiled and waxed  with environmental friendly  products to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.

This is your furniture...yours, alone.

Your wood.  Your dimensions.

Your surface treatment. Your color and finish.

We'll make it.
